We are accepting applications for both Lead Project Controller and Project Controls positions!  We are looking for qualified candidates looking to take on a role that aligns to their experience and qualifications.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for monitoring project expenditures, implementing cost control processes, and providing key forecasting insights. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure schedules are on track and budgets are met, while contributing to the success of major projects within OCI. Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for monitoring expenditures and performance against progress of projects
  • Cost Control:
    • Measure and explain cost variances between budget and actual, and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) vs. actual
    • Provide monthly project reports, reconcile project costs and investigate discrepancies
    • Create and maintain an 18-month rolling forecast for major projects
    • Develop and track project KPIs; CPI and SPI
    • Responsible for month end project accruals
    • Track and analyse project schedule vs. AFE and budget
    • Support E&P project managers with cost estimates during AFE submissions, budgets and forecasts
    • Provide and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Schedule Control:
    • Create a baseline schedule with input from the Project Manager and Engineers
    • Document assumptions, constraints, and risks impacting the schedule
    • Identify critical paths and dependencies between tasks
    • Update the project schedules monthly to reflect progress
    • Compare actual progress to the baseline and identify deviations
    • Evaluate the impact of changes to project scope or requirements on the schedule
    • Update the schedule with approved changes and inform stakeholders
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Skills and Qualifications we’re seeking:

  • 3-5 years experience in cost control or project controls, preferably in mining
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAP experience is an asset
  • PMP or other Project Management certifications are an asset
  • Experience with Power BI is an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or Accounting are considered an asset
    • If degree is in Engineering or Accounting field, must be eligible for registration with APEGS or CPA
  • Excellent planning and organization skills to coordinate efforts and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills, analytical skills and able to prioritize work effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Cooperative and collaborative, able to work as part of a team
  • Honest, ethical, and respects confidentiality

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

  • Saskatoon Corporate Office, flexible working 2 days per week from home
  • Occasional travel to northern site as required
