The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Keethanow Group of Businesses Department is now accepting applications to fill the following Permanent Full-Time position based out of Keethanow Food Supermarket in La Ronge, SK:
FINANCE ASSISTANT
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Handle operations of the payments to Accounts Receivable database in the store;
- Apply payments accurately and in a timely manner to applicable accounts;
- Maintain monthly reports on Accounts Receivable to assist the Finance Officers;
- Able to handle employee / customer / department queries into their Billing Account;
- Maintain purchase orders and invoicing databases;
- Strong ability to work with databases to enter, modify, correct payments in cashier application;
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and email);
- Basic knowledge of the accounting cycle process;
- Strong communication skills & able to effectively multitask day to day functions as needed;
- Train and correct employee duties toward A/R as needed;
- Make sound decisions independently for employees and customers;
- Monitor and assist with front line staff cashier's regulation and advise / report to manger in regard to proper procedure;
- Act as an ambassador to the Store Policies, Procedures, and Public & Social Media at all times;
- Maintain positive public relations on behalf of Keethanow Group of Businesses;
- Follow and adhere to the Keethanow Group of Businesses Personnel Policy Manual;
- Carry out other work-related duties as requested by the Immediate Supervisor.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Must have a minimum Certificate in Accounting or Business/Office Administration;
- 1-2 years experience of working as finance assistant in retail environment is required;
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
- Good knowledge of Accounting and Bookkeeping procedures;
- Good computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office;
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization;
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude;
- Must be able to provide a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver's Abstract.
