HR & Payroll Specialist

Location: Montreal, In Office

The HR & Payroll Specialist will manage the day-to-day HR and Payroll activities of the company affecting our 200 employees across the US, UK, and Canada. They will also assist with a variety of projects across the HR function with the goals of improving operational efficiency, increasing employee productivity and satisfaction, and attracting top talent.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, payroll, benefits, etc.

  • Process monthly, semi-monthly, and bi-weekly payroll for all employees across the UK, US, and Canada.

  • Maintain group insurance, retirement, and pension plans; enrolling and deactivating employees in a timely manner.

  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires; ensuring new hires have a positive and smooth transition into the company.

  • Maintain and update HR records in the HRIS system, Dayforce.

  • Review and revise HR policies to ensure compliance with new regulations as required.

  • Assist with special HR initiatives, such as creating training programs, drafting employee handbooks, implementing new perks, etc.

  • Updating and maintaining the company's intranet with company news and updates.

  • Coordinating employee recognition initiatives, such as internal anniversary announcements or Linkedin employee spotlight posts.

  • Assisting with Employer Branding projects aimed at attracting new talent.

  • Suggest ways in which to improve Payroll and HR processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of HR and Payroll experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field

  • Experience working with HRIS systems, specifically, Ceridian

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel for general reporting
