Job Summary

Provide day-to-day financial support and strategic financial advice to the Searchlight Division, and support collaborative integrated planning across the broader organization. This role will be a key business partner to the Searchlight Leadership Team. Working closely with this team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing relevant financial information, with in-depth business analytics, to assist in strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage financial reporting, P&L management, and decision making support activities.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering annual budget plans, 3 Year Operational plans, periodic forecast and long-range 5 year plans Responsible for designing the process and tools to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Responsible for managing Revenue component of IBP forecast; including incorporation into Annual Operating Plan, Annual Target setting and 5-Year Planning processes.
  • Development of design of scorecards that drives top and bottom-line performance, aligned to Corporate scorecards and KPI's
  • Determine and assess opportunities and risks for planning and forecasting and make recommendations
  • Review and monitor operating plan against customer contribution margins within agreed category objectives/guidelines
  • Ensure accurate financial information with respect to systems and controls
  • Coordinate and prioritize the flow of information and analysis between sales and marketing and the finance team
  • Lead decision financial decision support, including pricing, brand/molecule profit optimization and organizational costs
  • Provide support for business improvement and cost reduction exercises
  • Prepare, analyze, and present performance metrics
  • Analyze and present monthly financial reports on product and customer profitability.
  • Ad hoc projects and task teams as required
  • Ensure that trade spending and departmental expense budgets for the sales organization are tracked, reconciled, and controlled
  • Main point of contact for internal and external audits
  • Analyze sales and marketing profitability and work with the team on profit improvement initiatives/goals
  • Process evaluation and re-design as necessary
  • Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on employee's progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development

Job Requirements

  • Preference for position to be based in Montreal, QC.
  • University degree and accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or MBA Finance
  • Minimum 10 years of Finance experience with at least 5 years at management level
  • Strong change management skills including demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team
  • Proven ability to manage and influence significant initiatives across the organization
  • Proven success in recruiting, retaining, and motivating a best in class team
  • Exemplary communications skills capable of interpreting and communicating with important stakeholders.
  • Results oriented team player able to pivot between overall business perspective and hands-on management.
  • Ready to work in a very dynamic and demanding environment
  • Experience working closely with the executive level and influencing and affecting strategic organizational decision making and laser-like focus on execution.
