Job Summary

The Tax Team supports the Estate & Trust Services, Relationship Managers, RBC partners, and external clients by providing efficient, accurate, and quality client service related to tax return preparation. Key client service elements include T1 and T3 tax return preparation, providing tax knowledge and support related to account administration. The tax student is accountable for consistently delivering high-quality tax returns both federally and provincially demonstrating tax knowledge, attention to detail, and ensuring that crucial filing deadlines are met. Teamwork, collaboration, and developing interpersonal relationships are essential skills for success.

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

  • Trained to prepare and file various types of T3 trust tax returns and T1 personal income tax returns
  • Assist Tax officers with duties as assigned
  • Assist in tax research and financial information gathering required to finalize tax returns
  • Understands and follows the established processes, policies, and procedures for tax preparation and other accounts, ensuring efficient, effective, and seamless administration and quality client service is achieved
  • Team play is a critical skill in this role as success is dependent on working in cooperation with others
  • Required to communicate with teams located across Canada.

What do you need to succeed?

​Must Haves:

  • Bilingualism (English & French) required, required to communicate with teams located across Canada
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent written/verbal/electronic communication skills
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and very high level of accuracy
  • Tax software skills (Taxprep would be an asset)
  • Proficient in Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Time management skills
  • Teamwork skills

Exigences:

  • Bilinguisme (anglais et français) requis, car vous servirez des collègues et des partenaires francophones et anglophones à l'échelle du Canada.

  • Obtention d'un baccalauréat en comptabilité ou en administration des affaires
  • Solides compétences personnelles et capacité de travailler efficacement de façon autonome en équipe
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour la communication écrite, orale et électronique
  • Très bon sens de l'organisation organisé, important souci du détail et grande précision
  • Connaissance des logiciels fiscaux (Taxprep, un atout)
  • Maîtrise des fonctions avancées de Microsoft Excel et Word
  • Capacité d'établir les priorités dans son travail, de mener de front de nombreuses tâches malgré la pression et de respecter des délais serrés
  • Capacité de gérer son temps
  • Aptitudes pour le travail d'équipe
