LOCATION: Centennial Auto Group, Summerside & Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

HOURS: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week.

WAGES: $60,000 - $90,000 salary per year + benefits (negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Centennial Auto Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead and support our accounting team across six dealerships in PEI. Reporting directly to store management and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a key role in financial reporting, operational analysis, and strategic planning. APPLICABLE SKILLS:

• Education & Certification: Candidates with a CPA designation (or in progress) will be given priority. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience (automotive dealership experience is a strong asset).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and familiarity with PBS dealer management software (or similar DMS) is an asset.
• Financial & Analytical Abilities: Strong strategic financial management, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Leadership & Communication: Ability to collaborate with dealership teams, provide financial insights, and support decision-making at all levels.
• Detail-Oriented & Organized: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Motivated & Proactive: A results-driven professional who takes pride in their work and fosters a high-performance culture.

JOB TASKS:

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close, journal entries, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial and operational reports, including manufacturer financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, receivables, and floor plan financing to ensure financial stability.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Support store management with balance sheet reviews, expense analysis, and inventory management.
• Monitor day-to-day accounting and inventory processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure all financial reports (month-end, periodic, and manufacturer) are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist in year-end audit preparation and other accounting responsibilities as required.
