What is the Opportunity?

RBC Clear is a unique opportunity to build the cash management business of the future from the ground up. This is an exciting time to join a start-up function within RBC Capital Markets, built from scratch and anchored in a technical/digital play vs. a traditional play, enabling RBC to compete with new entrants in this space!

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, analytical, and driven professional to shape deposit pricing strategies at RBC Clear. This role will involve close coloration with Sales, Account Managers, Money Market Desk, and other key partners to develop and implement competitive pricing approaches that drive value for RBC Clear.

What will you do?

The VP, Deposits Pricing will

  • Continuously refine deposit pricing methodologies to align with market changes and competitive dynamics, adjusting recommendations in response to shifting external conditions and client feedback.
  • Analyze macroeconomic trends, market conditions, and peer pricing strategies to ensure RBC Clear remain competitive, while proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Conduct in-depth research on clients' financial fundamentals and leverage sophisticated data analytics to produce actionable, data-driven pricing recommendations that are easy to interpret and aligned with RBC Clear's strategic goals.
  • Work closely with Sales, Money Market desks, and other partners to integrate insights into pricing strategies that balance growth, stability, and profitability for RBC Clear's deposit portfolio.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all pricing requests, including detailed rationale, processing times, and client financial analysis, to maintain transparency and support accurate rate implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Money Market desk to ensure the accurate booking of daily tickets and track the corresponding P&L impact to ensure financial integrity

What do you need to succeed?

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethics with excellent multitasking skills, enabling effective prioritization and executions of multiple responsibilities.
  • Skilled in conducing in-depth research, analyzing data from various sources and performing data driven analysis to present actionable insights effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of treasury and balance sheet concepts, and solid understanding of fixed-income valuation, interest rate derivatives, and laddering strategies.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage tight deadlines and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly and efficiently while collaborating with diverse teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Must Haves

  • A min 5-7 years of experience in Capital Market, Treasury, Risk, Finance, or related fields
  • A university degree in a related field is required, with preference for a graduate degree and professional designation (e.g., CFA/FRM).
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and PowerPoint, with strong skills in PowerBI, Python, and Bloomberg as a valuable asset
