How you'll make an impact

This role primarily is a Sales & Commissions FP&A role with Branch Office P&L management for the Canadian branches. The role reports to the GBS Finance Director – Canada and serves as a primary interface between Finance and the Canadian branch leaders with a focus on providing insightful analysis on financial and operational performance of the business, making recommendations and providing support in implementation of said recommendations. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will manage relationships and directly support the Area Presidents in strategic decisions with the aim to positively influence the growth of business.

  • Monthly detailed financial analysis including variances to budget and prior year
  • Monthly analysis of key sales & operational metrics including leading indicators
  • Annual regional budget preparation along with monthly forecasting
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly financial statements for Canada
  • Monthly Producer compensation review including calculation of all applicable commission adjustments pursuant to Producer contracts
  • Monthly accounts receivable/payables analysis, working with the regional operational and management teams
  • Liaison between regional branches, operations, HR and the centralized finance and accounting teams.
  • Producer & Employee contract review
  • Providing insightful compensation& headcount financial reporting and analysis.
  • Review and approval of invoices & G/L coding
  • M&A analysis, due diligence, and integration as it would pertain to Canada
  • Champion and improve key reporting and operational finance processes through documenting and assessing client requirements and assessing client requirements

Key Skills

  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint Presentation skills (required)
  • Power BI, Power Pivot, NetSuite, Oracle JDE, TM1& MS Office suite
  • Bi-lingual English/French (Preferred)
  • Understanding GAAP Accounting & strong Financial Modeling skillset
  • Strong Business Partnering, Communication, Collaboration & Interpersonal skills
  • Learning agility & a bias to action by acquiring required Business Intelligence/knowledge
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Organized with effective time management
  • Operates with minimal supervision
  • Ability to gain trust with key relationships
  • Ability to lead research and triage of complex problems, tactical and strategic solutions


About you

  • University degree, college diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Professional accounting or finance designation required such as CPA, CMA
  • Minimum 5 years financial planning and analysis experience (Insurance brokerage/related industry experience is an asset)
  • Previous experience with M&A analysis is an asset
  • Experience in financial analysis of sales & operational metrics
