The Manager contributes to the management of credit risk for the Retail portfolios by overseeing the data management and reporting function efforts with a specific focus on regulatory reporting. The Manager is responsible for the development, data analytics, data management and execution of analytical and trend-based risk management, executive management, and external stakeholder reporting packages and analytic requirements across the retail life cycle (origination, portfolio management, and collection). The Manager is responsible, but not limited to, for the timely delivery of a suite of existing regulatory reports and the development of new insightful analytics and reports as required.

The Manager, Analytics is responsible for driving the key deliverables for Retail Credit Risk Financial Reporting as related to monthly / quarterly reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the design, development, maintenance and production of detailed reporting packages and data analytics for regulators, senior management and other external stakeholders, and the robust data management for Retail Credit Risk reporting and analytics by:
    • Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory reports in SAS, HADOOP, GCP, Hive/Hue, SQL Server, Excel, and Power BI according to business or regulatory requirements.
    • Developing new reports and on-going enhancements.
    • Determining the best data compilation methods.
    • Developing and establishing new data sources.
    • Leading documentation and governance efforts of data, processes, reports.
    • Validating, testing, and reconciling reports with various information sources.
  • Support the standard and integrated EDL risk information system. Conduct business analysis of multiple sources for Canadian and International retail data. Develop and implement new data and reporting requirements as per the Retail Credit Risk Roadmap (HADOOP, Hue, SmartView, Power BI, SAS).
  • Maintain technical and business documentation to comply with Regulatory, Governance and Audit requirements.
  • Collect and author business and technical requirements/specifications. Ensure all processes are documented and appropriate controls are in place to satisfy audit/compliance requirements.
  • Work with technology teams to identify issues and implement solutions. Respond promptly to ad hoc requests/queries.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • A minimum of five years of progressive, relevant and practical experience with leading financial organizations, preferably in the risk management, finance, marketing or IT fields, and a proven track record of success in the implementation/management of effective information systems.
  • Experience in developing and building reporting dashboards using Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and process automation software packages.
  • Data Warehousing knowledge & experience, including the management of multiple data sources.
  • Experience with manipulating large and complex datasets.
  • Design, development and implementation of decision support data management\analysis applications.
  • Maintaining a broad knowledge of current technology and practices; must have experience with the following:
    • SQL, SAS, Cognos, Business Objects.
    • Hadoop technology / tools (incl HIVE/HUE, Power BI).
    • Google Cloud Platform and related technologies.
    • Data Management, Database Design including data modeling and Data Warehousing skills.
  • Strong analytical and data mining skills with experience in manipulating large and complex datasets.

Knowledge and experience in the following areas are essential:

  • Knowledge of retail credit products, policies, portfolios and delivery systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Substantial risk reporting experience will be required together with an understanding of risk data and statistics.
  • A strong knowledge of the Bank's technical platform applications.
  • Industry knowledge of trends and best practices.
  • Must be accurate and thorough; effective time and project management; strong team work and communication skills
