Site: Hydro Place - 700 University Avenue
Reports to: CBARR Manager
Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Friday; 7.5 hours per day
Salary: $52,182 - $65,228 per annum (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-time

Position Summary:

UHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. The Financial Services Analyst plays a key role in supporting the plays a key role in supporting the management of patient and/or client billing and collection contributing to revenue and cash flow maximization.

Duties:

  • Professionally liaise with insurers, patients, support workers, and the clinical team as needed.
  • Coordinate with UHN's internal departments and external clients when applicable.
  • Efficiently utilize existing billing systems, including Epic and HRCM.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely billing of charges.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection processes.
  • Maintain a healthy aging portfolio by persistently following up on overdue accounts.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit requests.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on financial reports for relevant audiences, including necessary follow-ups and improvements.
  • Develop or revise Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents as required.
  • Perform cross-functional duties as assigned or requested, consistent with job classification.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree or diploma program in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 2 (two) years related experience in hospital setting with exposure to a range of accounting practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to function effectively and efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenging situations when issues are presented.
  • Sound professional judgment, initiative, and the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
