What is the Opportunity?

Market and Counterparty Credit Risk (MCCR) provides independent, enterprise-wide oversight and governance of market, counterparty credit, liquidity and model risks arising from RBC's businesses and operations. This role is part of the Business Management team which supports MCCR's financial and operational activities globally.

What will you do?

Support Business Management activities including:

Management Reporting & Support

  • Support senior management team meetings, including the development of agendas and coordination of meetings.
  • Prepare presentation materials for internal and external meetings and forums
  • Work with subject matter experts for MCCR educational presentations.
  • Participate in ad hoc analysis or high level initiatives in support of MCCR's senior leadership team (including the SVP and Global Head)
  • Engage in any other responsibilities necessary to support the ongoing management of the group

Human Resources

  • Create and continuously improve a robust HR reporting framework which enables MCCR teams to effectively manage their teams
  • Collaborate with functional HR partners to ensure reporting is accurate which includes headcount reconciliations, organizational chart updates, manager/transit updates and other ad hoc requests
  • Support the management team through the year-end performance process
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process of new hires including full time, contractor, and consulting resources
  • Manage requests pertaining to resourcing and associated cost allocations
  • Support Early Talent Initiatives (co-ops / interns) building a pipeline of talent for future hires

Operations Management

  • Issue tracking (Audit, regulatory, operational, etc.) and follow up. Responsible for updates on progress against issues and ensure appropriate documentation and closure of issues
  • Coordination of audit and regulatory reviews and responses as well as controls testing and related documentation
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that requests from other groups are directed appropriately
  • Manage floor space and seat assignments. Work with Corporate Real Estate for all Add/Moves/Changes
  • Assist with yearly Business Impact Analysis
  • RBCConnect representative for MCCR, contributing to GRM page and participating in overall planning of site

Financial Management & Procurement

  • Manage and monitor department spend, ensuring budget concerns are addressed effectively
  • Collaborate with functional finance partners to investigate any issues and provide input to any forecast changes
  • Maintain and update transit hierarchy and information as required
  • Review team costs and manage renewal process with appropriate service user. Ensure services are terminated in a timely manner for departed employees.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power point, with experience creating high-quality Power point presentations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop a network internally and externally
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, under tight deadlines
  • Well organized, with a strong attention to detail, and able to prioritize and handle multiple work streams
  • Ability to accept accountability, assume leadership and demonstrate initiative
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Experience working with Human Resources and IT teams

Nice-to-have

  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Strong facilitation skills
