The ideal candidate will come to us with 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping and operations. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are key requirements for this role.
What will you be doing?
The Billing and Business Coordinator supports all aspects of the firm's client billing cycle and the exchange of billing and other information between the firm and its clients, ensuring that billing is completed effectively, efficiently, and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Review and post client expenses in billing software
Review and post accounts payable in billing software
Produce and review invoices to client in billing software
Apply payments to invoices
Attend to banking
Communication and trouble shooting with internal staff, lawyers and clients
Account receivable follow ups
Trust accounting maintenance and updates
Other duties related to booking keeping and operational task as assigned
Help with organizational finance and business projects, and other business administration as needed
What will you bring to the role?
Post Secondary Diploma
Minimum 3 years working in a bookkeeping or billing role (experience in billing in a law firm/professional services firm is an asset)
Ability to communicate in a professional, efficient manner, with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential information
Capacity to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Have some understanding of Law Society regulations and trust accounting is an asset
Excellent technical skills, with experience with Microsoft Suite (365, Outlook, Excel) and overall comfort with learning new technology
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an attention to detail
Caravel Law is a hybrid work environment. Our head office is located in downtown Toronto. The first three months of this role require that the candidate be in the office 3 days a week, to better support on-boarding. Following a probation period, a hybrid option will be available for 1-2 days a week in office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
