What is the opportunity?

The GRM Portfolio Risk Oversight and Analytics team (PRO) is committed to providing independent and effective on-site monitoring, control, and communication regarding material risks for Business Financial Services (BFS).

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to join our team. In this role, you will develop data products to support credit risk management for Commercial & Wholesale portfolios. You will contribute to the overall success of BFS risk oversight strategies and objectives by executing reporting functions, strengthening risk methodologies, and evolving the analytics capabilities of the team. Your extensive experience in Data & Analytics Engineering will be essential in enhancing data capabilities, providing deeper insights, and enabling better data-driven business decisions.

To succeed in this role, you will need to develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders to support insight generation & decision-making through custom analytics and the continuous evolution of the PRO data infrastructure. The PRO team operations requires ongoing refinements and enhancements to deliver relevant and timely self-serve analytics to business users. Your role will be crucial in leveraging data effectively to ensure the team's success. As a hands-on data & analytics practitioner , you will ensure that data is tracked, maintained, and analyzed to optimize operational processes and improve business decisions.

The Associate Director, Credit Analytics & Insights will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making, risk assessment, and automation initiatives . This role will focus on developing analytical models, integrating AI/ML techniques, and enhancing credit risk reporting frameworks to support better credit decisioning, portfolio monitoring, and strategic planning.

We are looking for a bright, committed, and high-performing individual to drive PRO's data initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, quantitative, financial, credit risk, and business acumen, along with excellent communication skills.

What will you do?

  • Develop in-depth understanding of credit risk across industries or credit products within BFS.
  • Provide analytical support on Ad Hoc requests originating from stakeholders in business and GRM teams, and senior management.
  • Develop and implement data products (Dashboards/Reports) to support credit risk management for Commercial & Wholesale portfolios
  • Translate business needs into data products by engineering ETL solutions, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Build and iteratively improve data pipelines by navigating enterprise data warehouse and leveraging open-source querying and programming tools.
  • Engage cross functional stakeholders to enhance data structure and quality for valuable credit risk capabilities and strategies.
  • Identify and integrate new and innovative data sets to improve existing risk metrics & models and explore new data utilization opportunities for current and future products.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, related field or equivalent related experience
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in the area of Data Analytics / Data Science / Business Analytics
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to senior leaders in order to inform strategic decisions
  • Demonstrated ETL and big data modeling capabilities, with programming experience in large databases/datasets and using Python, Trino
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop data-driven insights and perform root cause analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and analytics platforms.
  • Agile mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to iteratively enhance modeling or data pipeline processes.
  • Strong experience in the big data ecosystem, with Hadoop (Hive, HDFS), Apache Spark, and NoSQL/SQL databases

Nice-to-have

  • Financial Services Industry/Business Financial Services knowledge
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data security practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of Credit Risk Management concepts
