Job Summary

Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Financial Analyst Student and join Wholesale Financial Control as a Summer-Fall 2025 student? This role will provide an opportunity to learn about various lines of business within Capital Markets such as Corporate Lending, Securitization Finance, Treasury Services, Investment Banking etc.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Support Wholesale Finance Control teams in month-end and quarter-end financial reporting processes through journal entry booking and disclosure template submissions.
  • Provide meaningful analysis of financial results to ensure accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures, regulatory reporting & supplemental formats.
  • Participate in the monthly review process to ensure financial controls are in place and the appropriate reconciliations are completed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes.
  • Participate in other ad-hoc projects as directed by reporting manager.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business, commerce or a related discipline.
  • Currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program and eligible to complete a work term from May 2025 to December 2025 or otherwise available to work during the same period.
  • Excellent MS Office skills - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience working at RBC or in a financial environment
  • Experience or understanding of financial analysis and financial reporting

Please note:

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
