Full-Time Scheduling & Nursing Clerk

Applicants are invited to apply for the position of

15 Month Contract, Full-Time Scheduling & Nursing Clerk,

for our 128 bed Extendicare Port Hope Home, located in Port Hope, Ontario. We are conveniently located just off of Hwy 401, in beautiful Northumberland County.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Scheduling & Nursing Clerk provides assistance to the Nursing Department through a variety of office, supplies and clerical duties.

What you'll be doing:

  • As the back up to our Scheduling & Attendance Coordinator, you will work in 'WorkDay', to help prepare nursing staff schedules and payroll processes. Replace staff due to absences, etc.

  • Manage the ordering process for the Nursing department by maintaining inventory levels of nursing supplies, forms and equipment.

  • Maintain files/records such as current and/or discharged resident files; Process orders or requisitions, book resident appointments, etc.

  • As the back up to our Receptionist role as well, you will process Accounts Payable and other related clerical duties.

  • Adhere to policies and procedures for department regarding fire, infection control, safety and quality assurance.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

What you bring:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma and/or Post Secondary Education

  • Experience with scheduling/payroll computer systems; Experience with 'WorkDay' is an asset

  • Excellent working knowledge of computers (Word/Excel)

  • Administrative skills, typing and filing.

  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff

  • Positive Customer-Focused Attitude

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)

  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
