Reporting to the Senior Payroll Analyst, the Payroll Analyst's role involves processing salary and hourly payroll, preparing standard and customized reports, conducting detailed analyses and preparing reconciliations and remittances for third parties and multiple government agencies. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone earlier in their career given the scope and various jurisdictions you will be learning about.
Main Responsibilities:
Support Process payroll for approximately 600 employees in a non-unionized environment across numerous foreign jurisdictions/currencies and numerous pay cycles
Process all payroll changes (new hires, terminations, adjustments)
Prepare payroll reports and analytics
Review all input, transactions, and deposits for completeness and correctness
Act as point of contact for employees regarding payroll queries
Process remittances and various payroll administration
Respond to a wide range of ad-hoc information requests
Ensure company's compliance with internal and external requirements
Provide support to other HR functions, as required
Education and Experience Required:
College diploma ideally in Business or Human Resources
Ideally 2 years of directly related work experience
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and/or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designations would be assets
Exposure to Dayforce systems would be an assets
Current on prevailing payroll legislation in all pertinent jurisdictions with an eye to continuous learning of same
Good understanding of financial concepts and facility working with numbers
Additional Skills and Assets:
Solid analytical experience and problem-solving skills combined with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, handle conflict and manage stressful situations
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivation, flexibility and ability to manage shifting priorities
Advanced technical and reporting skills
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems with Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Knowledge of Dayforce is an asset for this role
Bilingual (English and French) is an asset for this role.
