Position Overview

The Sr. Financial Analyst Yogurt BU position at General Mills Canada Corporation is accountable for the financial management, strategic guidance, business leadership and financial expertise to our cross-functional business partners within the Yogurt Business Unit (BU) team. This role provides financial thought leadership to enable the delivery of short- & long-range strategic objectives for the Yogurt BU team. The candidate will work closely with the cross-functional team to lead financial performance reviews, provide financial expertise to guide business decisions, and provide strategic perspective to drive long-term portfolio health. The successful candidate will have a holistic understanding of P&L management, be an expert in managing ambiguity, thrive in an agile environment, takes a proactive approach, and can make the complex simple. Role Accountabilities

  • Ownership and accountability over accurate Yogurt financial reporting, while supporting strong financial literacy among business partners and decision-makers of the Yogurt BU.
  • Provides financial expertise and strategic partnership through modelling scenarios to evaluate various business initiatives, that include but not limited to new product launches, product line optimization, various revenue growth and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively across the S&OP (PEAK) Process to ensure a strong two-way dialogue and communication as well as the holistic implications to the financial forecast.
  • Provide financial leadership through the monthly forecasting process and annual planning cycle.
  • Has a clear and holistic understanding of the business unit performance, with an ability to influence results and the strategy of the Yogurt business.
  • Autonomously and proactively influence, set and align priorities for self through respective Yogurt business partners while meeting broader Canada BU objectives.

Qualifications:

Professional Requirements and Experience:

  • A university degree in Finance or Business Administration is preferred
  • MBA or CPA designation is an asset
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Finance, preferably in CPG
  • Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financial analysis into insights & actions
  • Strong track record of influencing cross-functional partners on business results
  • Operates autonomously with agility and a capacity to make the complex simple
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous commercial experience preferred

Business Partnership: Support the business unit team to identify opportunities to optimize performance and maximize shareholder value through various revenue and expense levers. Operate cross-functionally and utilize your influencing skills to develop and implement business strategy. Prepare and present analysis to bring forward clear and concise recommendations with a strategic mindset to deliver on overall business unit and company objectives.

Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership to enhance analytical, planning, and reporting processes. Lead, participate and support projects within Finance, as well as cross-functional initiatives. Ensure adequate tracking and monitoring is in place to deliver financial commitments. Prepare, analyze, and present monthly profit and loss results, compare actual results to budget and prior periods and evaluate financial status.

Technical/Financial Acumen: Demonstrates technical/financial knowledge in a value-added way; understands, practices, and propagates proper accounting, policy compliance and reporting while ensuring a strong control environment.

Ability to Create Flexible Environment: Ability to lead through ambiguity with agility in a dynamic and complex environment to support effective ways of delivering goals for the team.
