This position is a hybrid role based in our Mississauga office with the opportunity to work 2 days remotely per week

As part of our Finance team, you'll ensure Ingram Micro operates with financial integrity, providing insights that drive specific investments and long-term growth across global markets.


Your role: The Director, Financial Controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the Canadian business including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of the system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP.

Reporting

  • Lead, coordinate and oversee the preparation of the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial reporting results, narratives, including preparation, review, and oversight of key deliverables for US businesses.
  • Lead, coordinate and oversee preparation of key reporting requirements for Corporate as well as External Auditors including CSP (Consolidation Support Packages), CSA documents (Control Self-Assessment) and PBC (Prepared by Client).
  • Conduct and report on Quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews identifying risks and opportunities with all reporting entities.
  • Coordinate with Finance (FP&A) accounting related matters impacting financial results.
  • Prepare annual financial reporting packages including the 11k (401k Audit), government related reporting and other financial reporting items as requested.
  • Coordinate with involvement of acquisitions regarding integration of financial results and key controls.
  • Responsible for key financial reporting and analysis of Sales, Gross Margin and Operating Expenses.

Leadership

  • Provide leadership to the accounting strategy, to optimize the company's financial performance and strategic position.
  • Hire, motivate, retain, and develop talent in the organization.
  • Provide appropriate Accounting Guidance for items related to Gross Margin, Operating Expenses and Operating Income including directing the teams.

Compliance

  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure SOX controls and processes are strictly followed.
  • Ensure quarterly reporting including Control Self- Assessment and Consolidated Support Packages are completed timely.
  • Comply with Prepared by Client requests from External Auditors as well as direct interaction with Auditors.
  • Establish and maintain a required partnership with the Tax department to ensure full compliance with all rules and regulations.

Monthly Close

  • Oversee the close process for key departments including Inventory Accounting (Gross Margin), General Accounting, and the CLS Accounting Team.
  • Responsible for the accounting on the Income Statement of Sales Reporting (including Gross2 Net), Gross Margin, Operating Expenses, Interest Income.
  • Responsible for accounting on the Balance Sheet including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Other Assets and Liabilities.

Projects

  • Involvement in various projects including ad hoc reporting, conversions, adaptations to guidance on reporting for new business initiatives, system enhancements.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a related field is required. A graduate degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience successfully leading accounting and finance teams.
  • CPA credentials are required.
  • Experience from public accounting and large multi-national public companies preferred.
  • Strong Team Leadership/People management/General Management experience.
  • In-depth financial accounting and commercial finance knowledge.
  • Expert in US GAAP, Internal Controls and External Audit Support.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX and integrating SOX requirements into business processes.
  • Experience with SAP, OS, Impulse, and other systems is ideal.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively simplify and convey complex concepts through both verbal and written communication.
  • Skilled at earning the respect and influencing senior management across all levels.
  • Well-developed analytical skills: proven ability to set up and critically evaluate reporting and relevant KPI's.
