Job Description

The Financial Analyst will work directly with the Manager of Finance, to support accounting activities, month end close, reconciliation and variance analysis with an aim to drive improved financial performance and support our business partners.

The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to "dig in" to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients and residents across Canada.

This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario, with flexibility for in-office work as part of our hybrid work model.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the general ledger accounts and financial reports.
  • Prepare the Monthly Financial reports and responding to inquiries and requests.
  • Own the month-end process for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Demonstrate accounting expertise by preparing and maintaining complex reconciliations.
  • Drive finance process improvement by applying a fresh perspective and creative problem solving.
  • Prepare budget to actual variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other finance team members.
  • Manage auditor requests and submissions to external parties on behalf of the company.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Working towards CPA accounting program preferred
  • 2 years work experience in accounting related role
  • Experience in identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting variances.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
