The Atlantic Canada Environmental Services group is looking for Environmental Scientists to build bench strength in our already high-performing team. Below is a brief description of the roles, capabilities and credentials you should bring.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Intermediate Environmental Assessment Practitioners:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, engineering, science, forestry, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience or a combination of education and experience

  • Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, sometimes reporting to different individuals

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and technical writing skills

  • High attention to detail

  • General knowledge of relevant local provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies

  • Ability and natural tendency to mentor staff that are junior in experience/exposure

Junior Environmental Assessment Practitioners:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, engineering, science, forestry, or related field

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience

  • Willing to work on multiple projects concurrently, sometimes reporting to different individuals

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • High attention to detail

  • Motivated to learn new skills, take on work assignments, and handle multiple assignments as appropriate

  • Some knowledge of relevant local provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies is an asset

Field Logistics Coordinator:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service capacity

  • Preferred background in asset management and inventory controls but not required

  • A class 5 license is required

  • Confident user of MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Solid written and verbal skills

  • Proven high attention to detail

  • Experience within a fast-paced, high-demand environment

  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with an ability to prioritize work

  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Interest in Health and Safety

  • Flexible work hours on occasion

Wetlands Biologist:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, engineering, science, forestry, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience or combination of education and experience

  • Received recognized training in wetland delineation

  • WESP-AC training is an asset

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and technical writing skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Experience in the collection of biological and physical field data

  • Ability and natural tendency to mentor staff that are junior in experience/exposure

Vegetation Biologist:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, engineering, science, forestry, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience or a combination of education and experience

  • Ability to identify common vascular plans in the field and to identify collected specimens using dichotomous keys and other reference materials

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and technical writing skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Experience in the collection of biological and physical field data

  • Ability and natural tendency to mentor staff that are junior in experience/exposure
