Job Description

We are:
Client & Project: We are seeking for a new talent to join the Finance team where you will have the opportunity to collaborate in the project 'Project Jets'. The client is LOBLAW (WITTINGTON INVESTMENTS), a company specializing in retail and investments.

WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Active involvement with period end close activities including JE preparations, reconciliations & in- depth analysis.

  • Regular communications and resolution of Franchise store on financial inquiries

  • Take a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completed.

  • Continuously monitor, recommend, and implement process improvement initiatives to increases effectiveness and productivity of department

  • Ensure all tasks within the functional area are completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Review and reconciling general ledger and preparing adjustment, as required

  • Prepare and upload journal entries

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • A Post Secondary education is required

  • A minimum of 2 years of Accounting and Payroll experience is required.

  • Strong English and French communication, both oral and written.

Bonus Points:

  • Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program would be considered an asset

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, particularly corporate and or retail will be considered an asset

  • Familiar with SAP system is preferred

  • Ability to converse comfortably with business partners

  • Intermediate experience with spreadsheet applications, word documents and email (office suite)

  • Professional attitude (communication with colleagues, positive attitude); professional demeanor

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or part of a team

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to problem solve and offer constructive solutions

  • Ability to meet required deadlines/targets

  • Be flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
