About the role
We’re looking for a Corporate Specialist to join our growing Specialty Lines team!
As a Property & Casualty Specialist in the National Corporate P&C team, you will be responsible for supporting Specialty and Commercial Lines with a focus in the Specialty Equipment Breakdown line of business.
What you’ll do here:
Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets
Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting
Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact's product offering to the competition
Research technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building
Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis
Perform technical underwriting audits
Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products
Provide underwriting training, lending expertise colleagues and distribution underwriters
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 3 to 10 years of relevant Commercial/Specialty Lines Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience
Good working knowledge of P&C wordings, products, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
Experience with large/complex placements is an asset
Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills
Can work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills
High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and Underwriters experience
University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
A completed CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation or commitment to eventually attain this designation is an asset
FCIP and/or CRM designation is an asset
Bilingual in French and English is an asset
Willing to travel on occasion

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:
$103,200.00 - $154,800.00What we offer
