In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Oversee and lead the operations of a mixed portfolio of retail and mixed use retail/office properties with a potential for industrial sites. Portfolio subject to change. The BC Suburban office oversees approximately 3M sf throughout the lower mainland, Kelowna, Victoria and Nanaimo. You will work collaboratively with our Director of Property Management and Operations management to help shape and influence the direction of our property management team. In addition, our tenants are high profile companies – strong presentation, relationship building, and communication skills are key for success! You will work collaboratively with our Asset, Finance and Leasing Teams to ensure site goals are met, deadlines are adhered to and work is carried out as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

People Management

  • Train staff on tenant services and communications program, policies, procedures, and processes
  • Ensuring that our staff and properties are viewed as leading property professionals by ensuring high levels of customer service and communication

Finance + Budgeting

  • Manage annual operating and capital budgets as well as a variety of reports
  • Manage and advise on multiple capital, construction, and acquisition projects
  • Ensure that all A/P and A/R for the properties are processed in a timely manner. Manage A/R issues requiring escalation.

Administration + Reporting

  • Manage annual building inspections and capital projects from beginning to end
  • Ensure that corporate governance, environmental, health & safety policies and procedures are compliant
  • Ensure that all required reporting is completed within given parameters and deadlines.

Operations

  • Manage complex tenant issues and ensuring all tenant issues are managed efficiently and in an effective manner
  • Travel is required subject to properties being managed.

Marketing

  • Be familiar and have previously carried out marketing for retail programs.
  • Work with our Marketing Manager to successfully carry out programs at various sites and ensure that budgets and policies are adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 7+ years of property management experience with extensive exposure retail properties and retail marketing.
  • 5+ years of budgeting (capital, acquisition, project, etc) and reporting management experience
  • Must have experience analyzing building data
  • Must have a vehicle and be comfortable with travel.
  • Clean BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

Preferred

  • Highly collaborative management style that allows you to independently drive a highly both responsive and proactive team
  • Nimble and agile working style that allows you to effectively address complex tenant inquiries in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment
  • Passionate about building structure and processes that drive a more efficient work environment
  • Passionate about sustainability initiatives and processes
  • RPA and/or CPM designations an Asset.
  • Degree in Business related fields an Asset.

The base salary for this position is between $75,600- $126,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
