We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join our AP team. This role can be based from our Burnaby Head Office in BC.

This is an on-site position.

Job Overview:

The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, with a focus on invoice processing. They review and reconcile invoices, obtaining approvals in a timely manner. They utilize a variety of access accounting software and other electronic tools to enable fast and efficient processing and ensure accurate record keeping. They prepare year-end summaries and ad hoc reports. Complete reconciliation of accounts payable to ensure they are in good standing. They perform a range of general bookkeeping, accounting tasks and provide support to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers through timely processing
  • Help streamline and improve the accounts payable process
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring prompt and accurate processing of invoices.
  • Review and resolve all invoices for exceptions in the OCR system
  • Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliation to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Reconciling monthly supplier statements and reporting discrepancies
  • Conduct regular audits of accounts payable transactions to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial processes and reporting.
  • Demonstrating integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
  • Review invoices to ensure proper documentation is required prior to payment
  • Perform invoice and general ledger data entry
  • Generate purchase orders when needed
  • Assist and support the Accounts Payable Supervisor
  • Run ad hoc reports from our ERP and AI OCR systems

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary studies in accounting, finance, business administration or administration
  • 5+ years of demonstrable skills and experience in Accounts Payable

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Successful experience in process improvement and modernization, including the use of AI OCR automation processes
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, teamwork, use of diplomacy to build consensus
  • Advanced Customer service skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of MS Business Central is a preference
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and interact at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with a practical, quantifiable and structured approach to problem solving
  • Proven ability to balance conflicting responsibilities while meeting deadlines and varying workload.
  • Expert skills in organization, communication, resourcefulness, independent work
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
