As an Employee Service Administrator, you are responsible for verifying, processing and maintaining payroll-related documentation in your area of specialty within established time and quality standards to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify, process and input payroll-related data in area of specialty within established time to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • Processes client transactions within established time and quality standards
  • Confirms data accuracy and maintains appropriate controls for audit verification
  • Understands sensitivity of client information and maintains client confidentiality
  • Monitors and maintains various client databases
  • Prepares routine correspondence
  • Ensures that plans are administered in accordance with plan provisions, client policies and legislative requirements
  • Facilitates problem resolution for clients
  • Follows up and resolves items of discrepancy and processes problems within area of responsibility based on standard work procedures

Qualifications

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of applicable legislation relating to employee compensation (i.e. Income Tax Act Workers Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act)
  • Word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications (preferably Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • PeopleSoft, Time & Labour, Time on Line or related payroll and timekeeping systems would be an asset

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Working with a union environment and collective agreements would be an asset

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Payroll certification

Required Experience:

  • 2-3 years payroll administration, benefit or an accounting, or related skills and experience would be an asset
