SUMMARY: Payroll Administrator will assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation, new hire packages and union remittances in the company. They are responsible to undertake a variety of tasks such as entering new hire information, entering payroll information, calculating wages, employee withholdings, union remittances and making payments.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Minimum of two years' experience in payroll administration.
Knowledge and experience with an ERP system is preferred.
Posses advanced troubleshooting and communication skills to solve complex problems.
Organized, detailed oriented and works independently.
Professional and concise communication in written and oral form.
Strong computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excels operating in a fast-paced team environment.
Good analytical skills and basic payroll knowledge.
Essential Functions:
Manage compensation and new hire packages using payroll software
Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate
Manage and calculate taxes and deductions using payroll software
Initiate periodical payments timely either by making direct deposits
Issues statements and invoices and maintain records
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
Calculate unemployment and severance payments, issue ROE's
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
