Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will fulfill the following responsibilities and duties:
Ensure efficient functioning and documentation for all financial systems including receipts, disbursements, billing, payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and accounting.
Hold responsibility over day-to-day financial components such as Insurance, Payroll, Benefits, WCB, CRA compliance, Amortization, Tax and Charity Law.
Create and maintain excellent financial controls, policies, and procedures.
Prepare monthly and as-needed financial reports and updates on Profit/Loss, Amortization, Budget to date, etc. to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Work within software such as QuickBooks Online, Nexonia, Silent Partner, as well as researching how to fully utilize such software.
Coordinate the annual audit with an independent Auditor.
Work within a team, assisting teammates as needed to accomplish accurate financial entries within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Benefits.
Manage cash floats for various programs and events.
Lend support to CAYU's short and long-term strategic financial goals.
Meet with a supervisor regularly and attend staff meetings.
Send out bi-annual written updates to those individuals within your sphere of influence, advocating for the ministries of CAYU and assist with all CAYU fundraising events.
Provide Review Of:
The reporting of staff/program budgets and expenditures.
The monthly program reports, displaying an in-depth knowledge of various accounting codes and classes.
Bank and MasterCard reconciliations.
Provide Oversight Of:
Payroll and payroll liabilities.
Company cell phone plan.
The annual finance planning/budgeting processes and assist the Executive Director in preparing the annual operating budget. Work with staff and board to develop/implement program and organizational budgets.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be working as part of an empowering team, and working regularly out of our Lacombe Office.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Working experience with QuickBooks Online (further training is available)
Administrative proficiencies in Google Drive, Microsoft Office
Experience in budgeting, payroll, profit and loss
Demonstrated strong skills in time management, organization skills, leadership, and communication skills
Depth of knowledge in applicable legislations, CRA Compliance, Accounting best practices, and Financial Reporting
