We're currently hiring for an Inventory Controller for our Supply Chain department. In this role, you'll be challenged to think on your feet, learn on the job and get a little bit better each and every day, with the support of a team that always has your back. There's more to any job than words on a page, but the focus of this role is managing raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to meet production schedules and operational goals. On any given day, the Inventory Controller is responsible for:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement inventory control systems and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to align inventory levels with manufacturing schedules.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to reorder materials and maintain supplier performance records.
  • Analyze inventory trends and production data to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
  • Prepare inventory performance reports, including usage rates, stock valuation, and cost analysis.
  • Implement strategies to improve inventory management, including lean principles and just-in-time (JIT) methodologies.
  • Propose process improvements to streamline inventory operations and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify and address slow moving/obsolete stock with appropriate business leaders in supply chain to ensure sufficient inventory turns within A/R cash cycle (turns within turns)
  • Actively bring awareness to deficient inventory management processes

  • College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Min 5 years' experience in a similar role in a Manufacturing Industry preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using established problem-solving/process improvement methodology, i.e. Lean or Six Sigma Green/ Black belt certification preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-company, multi-location environment is required
  • Previous experience with cycle count programs
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Access and Excel skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Considerable knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to inventory management practices.
  • Strong writing skills for creating reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.
  • Strong forecasting ability with solid analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
  • Knowledge of and implementation experience of electronic barcode/RFID inventory systems/accounting procedures.
