THE POSITION

Reporting to the Supervisor, Payroll and Benefits the individual will be responsible for assisting the Payroll team with daily tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Administration

  • Create Event Codes within UKG Workforce Management in a timely manner;
  • Respond and support the HR Ticket System (KACE) for all payroll queries, UKG Workforce Management and benefit queries;
  • Ensure that all Payroll documents are uploaded to employee profiles;
  • Approve EFT changes assigned through MyLocker;
  • Monitor the Payroll email and execute timely distribution within the Payroll team;
  • Ensure position processes are documented and updated as required;
  • Support and execute project related work as requested by the Supervisor, Payroll and Benefits.

Payroll & Benefits

  • Review and complete terminations within UKG Pro and with Benefit Providers;
  • Process and issue ROE's for all terminations and leaves;
  • Manage LOA process for part-time employees;
  • Manage RRSP transactions and administration;
  • Complete Service Canada requests for Employee Information;
  • Assist the Payroll team with administration tasks as assigned.

Program Management

  • Assist in a variety of programs which includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Provide support to Payroll Specialist for the Taxable Ticket Program;
  • Student Work Program reporting with both Calgary School Boards;
  • All other duties as assigned.

    THE INDIVIDUAL

    The ideal candidate will have the following background:

    • 3-5 years' experience in payroll process and administration;
    • PCP Designation is considered a strong asset;
    • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy; with the ability to work independently;
    • Expertise in processing Records of Employment;
    • Proficiency with payroll and HR systems, preference for UKG experience;
    • Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, while maintaining relationships with all employees;
    • Sound analytical thinking, planning, time management and execution skills;
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the organization, while handling stressful situations with professionalism.
