Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Treasury & Risk Management, the Manager, Accounts Receivable will oversee the collection function for the Aftermarket Division of De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited. This is an important position within Finance that will be responsible for supervising a talented team of AR associates as they support a worldwide customer base. The position requires exceptional customer service skills as it will work closely with both internal and external customers to ensure customer orders are released and paid for on a timely basis. Reporting will be a key deliverable as you will be expected to compile, analyze, summarize and monitor KPI's and other financial data on a weekly basis in a form that can be presented to the Executive Team. The position is based in Calgary, AB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, motivate and train a team of Accounts Receivable professionals.
  • Conduct credit checks on new and potential customers.
  • Ensure that customer payments are collected on a timely basis.
  • Accountable for achieving DSO targets.
  • Facilitate account collection conversations with DHC leaders and customers as required.
  • Review existing credit collection policies and recommend changes as required.
  • Oversee and monitor procedures for all stages of AR.
  • Work closely with the AR SME on the upcoming ERP implementation (IFS Cloud).
  • Prepare accurate and timely weekly reporting to the Executive Team.
  • Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding account collection.
  • Complete AR-related accounting reconciliations including subledger to GL reconciliation, accruals reconciliations, and allowance for doubtful accounts and provisions.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard revenue.

Skills and Experience

  • CCP designation or post-secondary degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive credit and collections experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including intermediate to advanced skills in Excel. Ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), able to meet with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to delegate and develop team members.
  • High level of professionalism and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional customer services skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
